The introduction of Vancouver has not only brought in some few features but it has also restored some of BCR Software’s previous features that a large number of clients found very useful. Listed below are the features that were either added or restored to the software and are now available on the Vancouver release.

• Administration

The ability to use the ‘Enter’ key so that the software cycles through sequential fields on the ‘Vendors’ and ‘Customers’ tabs inside of the item file has been restored.

• Accounts Receivable

Statements are now able to print in company order in addition to printing in ID order.

• Order Entry

If a user attempts to close a sales order that still has backorders, the software prompts the user to make them aware of the backorders before allowing them to close the sales order.

The system now allows Invoices and Credit Notes to be asssigned identical document numbers with respect to each other.

• X-Charge

X-Charge integration has been updated in compliance with upcoming federal regulations.

• Document Imaging

BCR’s document imaging product has been enhanced to be a full file repository instead of just holding image files.

Various other minor bugs/enhancements have also been addressed in this release.

     The introduction of the Utica release has added several new features to the software. Most of these enhancements were specific requests our clients wanted the software to be able to do for them. Every client uses the software in unique ways but some of these enhancements may also be boon in running your day-to-day operations. Below is a list of the changes made available to our clients in the Utica release.

  • Edit Customer Pricing
    • While on the pricing tab of a customer, a user can now copy in customer pricing, regardless of the id’s justification.
• AP
  • Instant Checks
    • When printing instant checks, the check number now appears on the check stub.
• AR
  • Apply Credit Notes/Payments
    • BCR Software has combined the Apply Credit Notes and Apply Payments into a single functionality.
  • Unapplied Credit Notes�
    • A switch has been added to the system defaults so that a user can create a credit note from an invoice and not have it’s balance auto-applied to the invoice when the credit note comes into AR. 
• RD
  • Remote Desktop
    • Improvements made in the speed of the software prevent the user from seeing a fade-in effect while opening modules using remote desktop.
• OE
  • Batch Invoicing
  • The functionality to process invoices in batches has been added to the software.

     The Tortuga release is one of the newest available releases with a couple more features added in. Listed below are those enhancements.

• AP
  • AP Charts
    • The layout for the AP charts has been modified so that it’s more user-friendly and has better looking displays.

• GL
  • GL Reports
    • To assist with internal use, GL account numbers have been added to the Balance Sheet and Income Statement.

    With the release of Sparta, there have been some interesting new features added to the software that were not a part of previous releases. Below is a list of the enhancements that have been made to BCR Software since the Rome release.

• AD
  • Change/Merge G/L Account #
    • The functionality to merge gl accounts together has been added to the software.
  • Edit Vendors
    • An “On File” checkbox display has been added to the system if the 1099 checkbox has been populated on the vendor.

• OE
  • UPS Worldship
    • BCR Software is now fully compatible with UPS Worldship 9.0 & 10.0.

• AR
  • Display Account Detail
    • “Previous” and “Next” buttons have been added to the account detail portion of the software to allow the user to browse through customers based on the current system default.

5.  If applicable, select “Leave Time Rollover” from the Payroll Module, Year End Processing, Leave Time Rollover.

6.  Select Year End Closing from Payroll Module, Year End Processing, Year End Closing. This copies selected payroll information to files for W2 & W3 processing and removes year 0 information from the payroll files.

7. Run W2’s and W3 from Payroll Module, Year End Processing, W2/W3.

Curious as to how BCR Software will run on the new OS?

Well the results are in from the testing department!  BCR Software runs just as smoothly on Windows 7 as it has on all versions of Windows since Windows 98 when preemptive multitasking was introduced.

If you intend on running BCR Software on Windows 7 in the near future we would love to talk with you.  The BCR Software install is an easy process on Windows 7 that should take no longer than 15 minutes.

The Multi-Word search allows users to type search terms into the item search box and then returns all items that match the search criteria provided.  Lets say you wanted to search for all 18 volt drills in your inventory.  You could type “18V DRILL” into the search box and Multi-Word search will look for any items that have 18V and DRILL in their description fields.

Look for this functionality in the Rome release at the end of August.

Rather than invoicing orders individually, these users will have a command screen where they will be able to select as many or as few Orders as they choose to be invoiced.  The screen contains Hold All and Release All buttons to make changes to the entirety of the list. Keeping a common look and theme, RED records are on hold while BLACK records will be invoiced.

Be on the lookout for this feature and the rest of the Rome release late August.

Essentially the right side of the Launchpad will function similar to a web page that can take users to various links on our blog pages.This feature will be available starting with the Quebec 1.2 release which will be available this week.  Keep up to date with what’s going on with BCR Software.
